Hi, All,
Well, we did it and it was GREAT.
Lyman alum actually like and enjoy each other. We may be separated by time and distance, but we value our shared history and have a great time honoring it every once in awhile. Those of you who missed this one, really missed something special. We might look different, but we haven't changed much.
Betty Davis Romine came the farthest distance, from Wasilla, Alaska.
Bobby and Valerie Loveland Richardson both attended the 35th in 2004 as singles, and returned this year as a married couple.
And we have the long-time marrieds: Dave and Madelyn MacLeod Fulsang, David and Kathy Heinsen Straughan, David and Judy Eller Jaeb (is it something about "David"?).
We had first-timers, like Debbie Means Greear and Stephen Edwards, who seemed to have a good time once they realized that it might be 40 years later, but it's still us.
Carol Sullivan still has a gift for detail and the most total of all total recall.
Alvin Dorn and Deborah Hilton McConnell enjoy every minute of life and it's contagious.
And many of us realized that we won't get many more chances like this.
My personal thanks goes to two special groups:
--Those who responded early and provided the encouragement to get started, like Sherry Heath Bentley and Pat Callis Hill, and even those who ended up not coming, like Chris Butterworth and Benny Dillard Strange.
--Those who helped, in particular Judy Eller Jaeb, who put the money down to reserve the U Club when we didn't know if anyone would come, and Nancy Martin Beltran, who organized this great website that has put us all in touch. Also, Madelyn Fulsang and Kathy Heinsen Straughan and Maury Linton and so many others who helped to set it up and break it down. We're a great team.
We will keep this website going. There will also be a website where you will be able to download pictures taken by our professional photographer. I'll have more information about that next week. In the meantime, Nancy has loaded some pictures on this site (I couldn't figure out how to do it) and Ronni Lang Knox started an open Facebook page where she has posted a bunch. Enjoy!
My deepest thanks to all of you,
Donna
